Revising and Editing

We plan for children to improve all pieces of work as they write and encourage them to make alterations using purple pen which is sometimes referred to as ‘pop pen’ (pen of progress). Often they will be asked to improve something as part of a next step.  We also teach the skills of revising and editing which are two different skills. We are clear on the difference with the children and when we are planning. We teach this through the consistent school terminology of ‘ARMS’ and ‘CUPS’.
